The truth is truly important to me. As a victim of child sex abuse, I spend years being ashamed and my behavior did not reflect my true self. When I was able to speak the truth, the power of that trauma became less and less. The more I talked, both in therapy and in public, about what had happened the more I became myself. Shame or poor self-asteam made me the easy target of advertising and the overwhelming need to be accepted by my peers.
